UAP Anti-Snap Euro Cylinder - High security anti-snap door lock.
After researching patio door locks and discovering just how easy it is for someone to defeat the old euro lock we had fitted in our uPVC door. I spent a lot of time reviewing various makes of Anti-Snap, Anti-Drill cylinders and whilst I didn't know this make originally it gets excellent reviews from a lot of online sources. Every lock can be defeated but the idea is to make it as difficult as you can so they either give up or bypass you all together. This lock claims to protect against Lock Bumping, Extraction, Picking, Plug Pulling, & Lock Drilling and is tested to British Standard BS EN 1303:2005. The EN 1303 European Standard was introduced to establish assessment and test criteria for the measuring of a cylinders resistance to physical attack, key security, fire resistance and durability. Assessed cylinders are awarded an 8 digit code that describes their performance against each assessment criteria. This code is a useful tool for comparing the strength of one cylinder against another. In this regard the UAP Anti-Snap Euro Cylinder lock stacks up well on the security stakes and without breaking the bank financially is about as good as you're going to get as a replacement uPVC door lock. The video I watched also suggested improving the strength of the door frame surround to stop someone forcing the door frame off the wall with a crowbar and I also bought some door frame fixings to increase the overall strength of the frame but this might be overkill for most people. The frame bolts cost about £3.00 for 10 and just need to be inserted in a hole you drill, hammered into place and tightened. I feel a lot more secure knowing this Anti-Snap / Bump lock is fitted. Very easily fitted and adds that extra piece of mind.

Failed after three months

It would only lock / unlock from the outside.It was replaced today with a"Yale Standard Euro Cylinder Nickel Plated 35/45 (80mm overall) Lock with 3 keys supplied - A 6 pin cylinder with a 10 year guarentee. by Truly PVC Supplies. Price: £7.43 FREE UK delivery. ".Half the price, a ten year guarantee, branded. Buy this one instead.

... won't be easy to 'snap' anyway!
Bought when heard & seen just how easy it is to 'snap' a protruding euro cylinder lock. Don't know much about locks - picking etc but I know that this one won't be easy to 'snap' anyway! Make sure to measure and order the correct size

Great lock.
An excellent lock. I purchase locks to pick, and this one really tested my abilities. The anti pick pins certainly do their job. Pickable if you know how to override anti pick pins, but a very stubborn lock.

Upgrading after 30 years.
After reading how easy it was for bunglers to get passed the normal cylinder lock, watch U tube, i decided to change to this high security type with all its stopping power.(only know if i`m right if someone tries it ).
