A great monitor packed with features
The media could not be loaded. I’ve tried a few different monitors in the past and decided to try Desview R7 after doing a bit of research online, it seemed like a great quality monitor with a good feature set at a reasonable price. I wanted an slim on camera monitor as the small screen on my Lumix camera is difficult to see when it’s sunny.I was really pleased when I received it. It looks great outside in the sun with a really powerful and bright touch screen that displays much better than I was expecting. It comes complete with a cold shoe adaptor, instructions, and high-quality carry bag/travel pouch to keep it protected. It doesn’t include a battery, so this is one this to be aware of. It has the features you would expect with false colours, focus peaking and at 1000 nits it’s nice and bright. The screen is 1920 x 1080 and supports a 4K signal. It has full size HDMI in and out and screw mounts on the bottom and on one side. The controls are easy to use and at the moment I’ve been enjoying using it. I’m pleased with my purchase and will update after I’ve spent more time with it.

Good for the price
Good for the price. Some of the “features” are a farce. Good bright picture.

Amazing spec field monitor! 1000 Nits & 4K screen
There's enough reviews of this field monitor online so no real need to go into depth about it but this is hands down the best budget field monitor about at this price point.True 4K at 1920x1200 on a surprisingly good quality screen, which runs to 1000 nits brightness, but I rarely have it pushed beyond 500 (which is still brighter than most budget units). The tough screen is excellent, not on par with the very latest Apple offerings but its very good, at no point have i been left wanting more response. This came with the better 2 way tilt / rotate mount rather than the ball head type which is a godsend because when I'm doing interior photos you can whip the screen left and right without retightening. A ball mount would be a total pain for me.LUTS were easily uploaded from the included USB key and seemed pretty bang on for my canon.I use the small 2900mah batteries and get about 70-80 minutes of constant runtime. The larger units should yield somewhere around 3 hours. The only grumble I have (and its minor) is that they only give you one hex key. I suspect this is a leftover from an earlier version which used to ship with the ball head, but you need two allen keys to tighten the screen mount for tilt. Its just a 3.5mm hex so most people will have one, not enough to lose it a star.Overall, for the money, you really can't argue with this monitor

Can't beat it for the price
The media could not be loaded. I’ve already got a Feelworld MA7 monitor that I bought in December. It was my first field monitor so after years of squinting at my camera’s tiny screen, it made a huge difference to how I filmed. That’s a good monitor but I can’t upload LUTs. The only way to preview a v-log image with a LUT applied is to output from my GH5 with the view assist feature. So the on-screen monitoring tools are useless, as they are representing the image after the LUT is applied, not before.Nine months or so later I came across this monitor. It’s only about £70 more than I paid for the MA7 and it’s not only brighter (1000 nits vs 450), and not only a touchscreen, but I can upload LUT files! And - obviously - the tools, which include waveforms as well as histograms and vectorscopes, now correctly show the data based on the log image. The monitor case is made of plastic so it feels a bit cheap - but so is the price. It’d be unfair to take points of for that. The important thing is the screen is bright so it’s usable outdoors, the menu is nice to use and the LUT feature is superb. For the price, I can’t see anything else to touch it. If this is the amount you want to spend, the only reason I’d look elsewhere is if you wanted something smaller such as a 5” for using on a gimbal. Otherwise, this does the job and does it very well.

View is overexposed by about 2 stops
The screen seems to have some sort of signal processing issue, as what it shows looks about 2 stops overexposed. I severely underexposed the footage of my first day using this, but exposing for what looks right rather than trusting the histogram from the camera. The histogram and all other functions this screen features work off the overexposed processed data coming from the camera, so peaking, zebra, histogram functions of the display are all useless.Other screens show the correct exposure from the camera. A bit disappointing as this could have been a really good display.

Consider buying a battery
If only a battery was included in the package I would have given ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Bright touchscreen 4K mirrorless/dslr video monitor
The media could not be loaded. The Desview R7 is a 7in field monitor with touchscreen controls. It has focus peaking, zebras, waveforms, histograms and vectorscopes among other features.I got this to replace a Desview S7 which I have had for a year or two. These are both budget monitors, but the R7 is a big improvement over its older sibling.I don't have it long enough to comment on its build quality — the body is plastic, but seems sturdy enough. It's light, which for my purposes is a good thing — I intend using it on a gimbal. The unit runs on DC (don't think I'll ever use this option) or on NP-F batteries.I tested it using a Sony A7III and the 4K signal came through without a hitch. It's far easier to use than the S7. For the price, it's very good. One minor crib, it doesn't come with a hood.
