Q: How thick is the cardboard? And do the four tubes come nestled inside one another?

Cardboard is approximately 1/4 inch thick .. If they are the same diameter then they would not nestle at all ... I received ONE tube in a box that would have held 4 ... took a few weeks to get a credit for the 3 missing tubes .. Bought the 3 I needed at a local store and saved some money in the long run !! .. Check and compare prices at your local lumber/hardware store !!
