Q: Is this ok to use with a prelit tree

Yes you can use a prelit tree. Some people take the time to cover each bulb with foil or wipe the bulb down after flocking

Q: How much tree does one bag cover? I have a 14 foot tree.

A 25# bag of flock cover 4-6 six foot trees. So one bag should cover it with plenty left over.

Q: How is this applied to the tree?

You mist the tree with water and then apply the flock and seal by misting again with water. Commercially this is applied with water sprayer and a sno-blower. If you are doing this at home, you can apply with a sifter. Pinterest and You tube have demos or instructions for home application.

That is a personal preference. Both have adhesive in the product, you need to use water to activate it.
