4 X Black WP70 Silicone Sealant Low Modulus Builders External Windows Doors Upvc Wood

I used this product to seal around my front bay window. The old sealant was 25 years old and although it was still sound as I am painting the outside of the house, I decided to replace all the sealant as well.WP70 is a decent enough sealant, it does what it is supposed to. It is easy to use and gives a good over all finish. I am not an expert at replacing sealant, but I feel that if one follows a few easy rules, there is no reason why a desirable finish cannot be achieved with WP70.

I received these 4 tubes of sealant in mid-March this year and tried to use it yesterday (20 April '21). I cut open the first tube but when I squeezed the gun I couldn't get the sealant to come out of the tube. I removed the nozzle, prodded the visible sealant and it was hard - it had cured in the tube! I then looked at the date stencilled on the case and it was dated '03-18'. On checking the other tubes one was the same date, one was marked '03-19' and the fourth was indistinct but I could just make out '18' at the end. I therefore did not open any further tubes as they are likely to be the same. I have had to order replacement sealant from B&Q to do the job.This is the first time I have had this sort of problem with goods from Amazon and it looks like their supplier is trying to make money from the sale of old stock. I am therefore requesting a full refund please.

Bought 4 of these sealant tubes as they were at a good price and they were Rosewood colour, which I wanted. Was a bit disappointed when I saw the use by date was 2018 but thought they maybe ok still. The day I fitted the windows I opened two of the sealants to find they had both gone hard, didn't bother with the other two. Had to go down to the double glazed place the following day to buy some Rosewood sealant, which was in date and just as cheap. I think sometimes you take your chance buying on here.

Cant fault this stuff. Excellent value too. Arrived speedily. So all good apart from the packaging which was no more than some plastic . No padding so 2 of the tops arrived broken as you might expect. I know they need to keep costs down to maintain their excellent value for money but please a little more padding for shipment.

I am certainly not a pro, but this product worked very well on our UPVC doors and windows with regards to replacing old silicone.

Very good product for windows. Applied it around all the windows in the house, last year, and it still looks new. I noticed one negative review where cracking had occurred. Having tried it on the interior of my bathroom window, I found that it doesn't like being on top of certain silicone sealants and may well split.

Tried 3 different sealants for use with uPVC cladding and this one proved to be very good.
