TiptonUniversal Bore Guide with 3 Muzzle Guides for Cleaning Rod Alignment and Firearm Cleaning

So, I have the Dewey, but decided to try this one. Observations so far:- Construction: Steel and plastic. We'll see how the plastic holds up over time.- Price: Very competitive, but it's cheaper for a reason. Some parts are plastic.- Versatility: Universal, which is VERY nice. One guide rules them all!😁- Install/Use: This is where it gets a little tricky. They give you an alignment barrel for AR and bolt, but you might have to flip the bolt action barrel around to get it to work with your action's design. I had to flip it around to get the guide's stem to position correctly in the spot where my bolt handle goes. The opening for adding your bore cleaner is a nice size!Outside of the plastic parts, this is a great option. Still gets five stars from me and I would recommend it.

Worked well. 4 stars because it wobbles a little bit with aggressive scrubbing. It works well.

Kept mag area clean while cleaning my rifles. Very impressed after using a few times.

Exactly what I needed

I was very disappointed with this purcahse. The bore guide is easy to assemble and use. However, the screw pin that is supposed to lock the metal ring in place does not secure it very well and it has a tendency to move if you don't screw the screw pin down very tightly. However, if you screw the screw pin down tightly, the issue is that the screw pin will scrape the paint off of the aluminum tube. I've even noticed some deformation of the aluminum where I had to screw the screw pin on too tightly. The tube is also very thin for a critical part being made out of aluminum and I worry about bending it. On top of this, the black paint on the aluminum tube will peel/flake off on the inside and get inside of your barrel/gun when using common solvents like Hoppes No. 9, Butch's Bore Shine, Patch Out, etc. There were a couple of times paint flakes from the inside of the tube peeled off and came out in a wet patch which I initially thought was fouling from my barrel. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I’ve used it a few times on different rifles in different chamberings, and it worked pretty good besides on my Model 70s. The Model 70s use a blade extractor that the bore guide can get past, but it’s hard to get it out. On my rifles with plunger ejectors(Remington 700, Weatherby vanguard, etc) it doesn’t have this issue since there’s nothing for it to get caught on. Its worked pretty good on my long action 700 and my short action Vanguard with no real issues. The build quality for its price is pretty alright, it’s pretty much a tent pole with plastic guides in the end. It’s easy to use, and a nice extra bit of protection if you’d like to have it.
